Math Teacher

Teaching math here at ACA feels like a full circle God moment, as my first teaching job was also in Camas so many years ago (ohhh, if only the phrase was “full rectangle”, which is my favorite shape)!! Speaking of favorites, at the top of my list is spending time with my husband John, grown son Josh, and college daughter Lauren; honorable mentions include celebrating holidays (from Groundhog Day to Christmas to National Tortilla Chip Day), catching up with friends over coffee, studying scripture, crafting a good pun (or the occasional bad one), and making lists. I imagine myself a houseplant enthusiast (mostly I’m just enthusiastic when I can keep them alive!), but I am also equally enthusiastic over a challenging puzzle, anything magnetic, blueberries, dark chocolate (or some combination of the two), and apparently parentheses. A good teaching day for me includes getting to talk math with students, but a great day is when one of the brave ones asks a question that leads to a cool math-life-God conversation and connection. I am expecting many great teaching days here at ACA.
